Our Development Management Committee meetings are livestreamed on our YouTube channel.
Each year, we receive about 2,500 planning applications. About nine out of ten planning applications are decided by our Chief Planning Officer using the powers which have been delegated to him. Some applications are referred to the Development Management Committee for their consideration.
The Committee meets every three weeks. Each planning application to be dealt with is listed on the agenda with a report produced by a planning officer. The report summarises the background of each application, its history and the comments of neighbours and anyone else interested in the proposal.
