Discretionary rate relief

The Council provides support to rural businesses and to charitable and not for profit organisations by way of discretionary rate relief.

Awards to other ratepayers can be made but only if support is deemed to be in the interests of local council tax payers.

Relief of up to 100% can be awarded subject to state aid limits.

Each application is considered on its merits but to assist you, we have produced Discretionary and Hardship Relief Guidelines.
