WorkBoost – grants for employers to take on new staff

Employers based in the Sevenoaks District can access funding to take on new staff through our ‘WorkBoost’ scheme.

WorkBoost pays the wages of new staff who would work up to 21 hours a week for up to 12 weeks. The staff would be paid the minimum wage.

Employment can start anytime, but must be completed by 28 February 2025.

The staff have to be:

  • Aged between 18 and 24 years old and currently out of work or under-employed

  • Anyone who has out of work or under-employed for over a year

  • A person with a disability aged 18 and above

Underemployment refers to people in work but their job is inadequate in terms of hours worked, skill levels or income.

As well as gaining work experience, the staff will receive training and support from us. This includes team-work, communication and other skills, CV writing and help applying for work

The scheme is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
