Christmas tree collections | Sevenoaks District Council

Christmas tree collections

There are several ways to dispose of your real Christmas tree once the festivities have ended.

Whatever option you choose, please remove all decorations, stands and pots.

Use our Garden Waste collection service (for permit holders only)

If you hold a Garden Waste collection permit, simply place your tree in your garden waste bin and we’ll pick it up on your usual collection day from 13 January 2025.

Your Garden Waste bin lid must be closed before collection so you may need to cut up your tree before it goes in.

We can take trees with a trunk of up to 90mm (3.5”) in diameter.

Take your tree to a Household Waste Recycling Site

Take your tree to one of Kent County Council’s Household Waste Recycling Sites. They will take larger trees that are too big for us to collect.

Visit www.kent.gov.uk/recycling or call 03000 41 73 73 to book a slot.

Recycle your tree with Hospice in the Weald

For a donation of your choice, Hospice in the Weald volunteers will collect your unwanted real Christmas tree, recycle it, and donate the chippings to the local community.

You will need to register to use this service. Registraion is open from 15 November 2024 to 7 January 2025.

Collections will take place from 12 to 14 January 2025.

Register with Hospice in the Weald
