Set up a Council Tax Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the best way to pay. It's simple, quick and safe.
To set up a Direct Debit you will need:
- Your bank account details
- Your Council Tax account number (this is shown on your annual bill)
You only need to set this up once and it will run from one year to the next. You do not need to cancel and set this up every year.
- You can choose from four payment dates - 1st, 8th, 15th or 23rd of the month
- You will receive a bill which will notify you of the payment dates and payment amounts which will be taken each month
- We will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited if the amounts to be paid or the payment date changes
- If we or your bank or building society make an error, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund
- You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by contacting your bank or building society.
Pay online
You can make payments at any time using our secure online payment option.
You need to have your:
- Debit/Credit card
- Council Tax account number (shown on your Council Tax bill)
Payments will generally show on your account the next working day. Payments made after 5pm will take two working days.
