If you live in a socially rented home and you want to move into a smaller property, you could be entitled to hundreds of pounds and help moving with our Changing Spaces scheme.
To be eligible, you must:
- Live in the in the Sevenoaks District
- Rent your home from West Kent or Places for People
- Have at least one spare bedroom.
Changing Spaces offers:
- A £1,000 one-off payment
- An additional £500 for each empty room you free up
- An extra £500 if you move to an over 55s property
- Help with removals and getting rid of large items.
The money is usually paid into your bank account within four weeks of moving. Any money you owe for outstanding rent will be deducted from your payment.

You can bid for a new property through the Kent Homechoice website. You will be placed in band A, the highest priority band.
