Parliamentary General Election - 4 July 2024

A Parliamentary General Election has been called and will be held on Thursday 4 July 2024.

Important information about the deadlines to register to vote or to apply for a postal vote, proxy vote or Voter Authority Certificate are set out on this page.


Election candidates

Seven candidates have been nominated to contest the Sevenoaks Constituency at the General Election on Thursday 4 July 2024.

The candidates are:

  • Adam Hibbert – Social Democratic Party
  • Elwyn Lloyd Jones – Rejoin EU
  • Laura Marie Manston – The Green Party
  • James Douglas Milmine – Reform UK
  • Denise Roseanne Scott-McDonald – Labour and Co-operative Party
  • Richard Giles Streatfeild – Liberal Democrat
  • Laura Trott – The Conservative Party

Voting in a polling station

If you are registered to vote, and have not been issued with a postal vote, you can vote in your local polling station. You can find the address of your polling station by visiting wheredoivote.co.uk.

Everyone voting in person in a polling station must show a valid for of voter ID before they can be issued with a ballot paper.

 

Voter ID

Anyone voting in a polling station must present a valid form of identification (photo ID). This requirement was introduced by the Government and applies to all voters who vote in person or by proxy in a polling station.

Photo ID is not required for postal voting.

Voting by post

The deadline to apply for a postal vote or postal proxy vote has now passed

If you had a postal vote arrangement in place before 31 May, your postal vote pack will be despatched around 19 June.

If you applied for a postal vote after the 31 May and before the deadline on 19 June, your postal vote pack will be despatched around 26 June.
