To ensure we are compliant with the taxi and private hire vehicle standards, we have introduced a mandatory test to evaluate a driver’s understanding of:
- Child sexual exploitation and safeguarding
- Disability awareness
- Gangs and county lines.
The training and test will take place at our offices. All new applicants and future renewal drivers will be required to take the test for a one-off fee of £66.
Please allow two hours to take this test.
Once a new applicant or a driver at renewal stage has passed this test, there will be no requirement to re-take it at their next renewal. Existing drivers will be notified when they are expected to attend this training.
How to pay and book a test
You can pay by card by calling us on 01732 227000. When you call, please tell us you wish to pay for a EQUO test.
Once you've paid, you can book your test by emailing licensing@sevenoaks.gov.uk. Please attach your booking receipt to this email.
On receipt of your booking request, we will email you within five working days confirming the date and time of your test appointment. The Equo Safeguarding tutorials will also be emailed to you.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, you must notify us at least five working days before the date of your test.
