Sevenoaks District Council has installed a new electric vehicle charging point exclusively for taxis as part of its journey towards Net Zero.
The new charging point is located in South Park, Sevenoaks and will support more taxi drivers to purchase the cleaner, greener, electric vehicles.
Cllr Margot McArthur, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Cleaner and Greener, says: “We’re committed to helping our local economy and the environment and this latest charging point is another part of our work to move the District towards Net Zero carbon emissions.
“With the electric vehicle charging network expanding every day, and the ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles planned for 2030, I hope this new charging point will encourage more taxi drivers to make the switch to electric.”
The electric charging point was installed by Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with Kent County Council.
Any taxi driver needing more information about the charging point can contact Swarco on 020 8515 8444 or support.uk@swarco.com.
