It’s not long until the hugely popular ‘Run, walk or push against dementia’ returns for 2024!
There’s still time to sign up to the event which takes place on Sunday 19 May 2024 in the beautiful Knole Park, Sevenoaks. Participants can choose from a 3 or 5k course suitable for parents with pushchairs through to a 10k course suitable for runners.
Places are limited, so those wishing to take part are being encouraged to register quickly.
All the money raised goes to the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community Forum, a registered charity that supports local people who are living with dementia and their carers.
Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says: “This event is always a very special day. It’s great to see families, runners and the occasional dog turn up and run, walk, or push in the name of charity. Places are limited so don’t miss out!”
Elaine Murray, co-founder of the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community Forum, adds: "Run, walk or push is our major fundraising event, but it does so much more than that – it raises awareness of dementia in our area.
“The money from the event helps us run our forget-me-not cafes and other events that are so important to people living with dementia and their families.”
